Analysis
Thankfully, there isn't any major flaws that exist in the current system. The only minor flaw is that faculty within the school system can add themselves or others to certain classes, since they know the codes and all. We can attempt to add extra layers of security when selecting the classes and generating new codes every semester so that it never stays the same. We can also monitor each faculty's' account to see what they are doing / did on the system.
It would cost a couple extra thousands, as we would have to pay the people who made the system edit it for us and come up with the new codes too. The staff might be paid a slight bit less to make up for the cost, or we could rise the prices on certain things such as food, snacks, events, etc. which would affect everyone, including the students, staff and even family members.
Toms River has had this existing MIS for a long time already so they understand it quite a bit. They maintain it by making sure the system is always up to date and adding new protocols and tools for situations that come up, such as the current Pandemic.
We also have the Five-Component Framework which is the following:
○ Hardware: Chromebook for students
■ A Chromebook for every student will be very costly, on top of any programs that might need to be paid for (Microsoft Office, etc).
○ Software: Google Classroom
■ Cybersecurity to ensure the students can log in with no issues or without anyone stealing their information.
○ Data: Google Drive
■ Cloud Computing so that the student's work can be saved and worked on from other devices that can access the Cloud.
○ Procedures
■ Joining classroom for their classes on time and knowing how to navigate it.
■ Using webcams so we can see the students are there and participating.
○ People
■ Student must know how to use google and have a google account.
■ Teachers must be trained to use google professionally and be able to help any student who needs it.
